The Meaning
The word “Dalang” has several meanings in Indonesia. Dalang comes from the title given to the person who leads behind the puppet show. Because of its nature, the word “Dalang” has become a term that has another meaning, namely someone who is responsible for something (mastermind).

At Dalang, every frame is backed by a team of passionate artists, engineers, and producers who understand that great VFX comes from great collaboration. Our studio is led by Gaga Nugraha, an award-winning VFX Supervisor with decades of experience in advertising and feature films. He remains hands-on in every major project to ensure quality and storytelling always come first. We build cross-disciplinary teams with a shared vision: to create visual effects that are both technically powerful and emotionally resonant.

Gaga Nugraha began his career in 2004 as a CG Artist in the advertising industry before founding his own studio in 2008. Over the years, he has contributed to the production of hundreds of television commercials, both local and international, and has been entrusted as a VFX Supervisor on several Indonesian feature films.
